About Us
The Freedom Engineers are a FIRST robotics team from Freedom High School, the team began in 2017, through the help of many students and teachers. The team is a non-profit organization working to improve the lives of students, with 501(c)(3) status. Currently, the team consists of students from Freedom High School who are coached and mentored by professionals in STEM fields. Students learn the ins and outs of STEM fields and are able to gain important life skills.

            Each year, the Freedom Engineers build a robot for competition. Team members also compete for leadership and community awards. In their first year of robot competition, they won the Rookie All-Star award at the Lake Superior Regional. This earned them a spot in the World's Competition, in St. Louis, Missouri.

FIRST Robotics Competition
FIRST stands for "For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology." FIRST's goal is to inspire the next generation and develop an interest in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math). FIRST has many programs for all ages preK - 12. The Freedom Engineers compete at the FIRST Robotics Competition for high schoolers. At the FIRST Robotics Competition, teams build industrial sized robots, create a brand, and compete with and against other teams.
